Optimum Beach, founded in 2014 by current owner Pri Piantadosi-Lima, is committed to teaching and applying a unique and impactful training methodology to players of all levels and ages. After finishing her Division I indoor career, Pri became a stand out player on the FIVB World Tour and the AVP for over 15 years. The experience she gained competing at some of the highest levels in beach volleyball and training with some of the best players and coaches in the game has allowed her to develop an exceptional and established approach to training the mental and physical game. Pri’s undeniable love and passion for the sport and for coaching shines through and has created a culture amongst all of the Optimum Coaches that is known for mentoring and inspiring their players to personal growth and development that can be applied in life and in the game of beach volleyball. She coaches from the inside out and invests first in her players as people then as athletes.

Pri and her staff have a unified method of coaching and have established a culture with universal standards of how we train. We help guide our players though the recruiting process from the beginning to end, with strategies to find the best schools, how to email coaches and navigate the conversations leading up to your decision. Co-Directors, Jay Dorsey and Emily Bean opened up Vollis Beach in 2017 with dreams to bring a bigger love of Volleyball to Middle Tennessee and the surrounding area.. After 4 years of great success, Dorsey and Bean envisioned taking Vollis Beach to the next level. After meeting with Pri and her Florida team, it became clear that a partnership between the two would be the ultimate dream team for the Middle Tennessee Volleyball community, providing vision, excellence, and drive.
After finishing a successful professional football career, Dorsey became a highly sought after performance trainer for youth, amateur, and professional athletes of all different sports. His main focus is using innovative and dynamic approaches to increase the athlete’s speed, agility, and quickness.
Volleyball became Dorsey’s primary focus in 2010. Since then, he has competed in Open Level tournaments against some of the best Beach Volleyball players across the country. In addition to playing and training, Dorsey started coaching in 2014. In 2016, he completed his USA Volleyball Beach Cap 1 Certification and in 2017, Dorsey signed one of his first beach volleyball athletes to a Division 1 program (UNCW). He continues to coach and train college-bound juniors and professional adult athletes.
Director and Coach
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Emily started off her volleyball career with a bang, earning multiple accolades at the high school level which led her to play Division I Volleyball at Kennesaw State University (KSU). During her career at KSU, Emily earned All-Tournament Team honors (2014) and ASUN player of the week nominations. She currently is still ranked top ten in school records for attacks, aces, and digs. In 2014, Emily studied and played for a local semi-pro team in Galicia, Spain for one semester.
Emily began her coaching career in Atlanta, GA at Cobb Atlanta Volleyball Club (2012) and coached Kennesaw State University youth camps throughout her collegiate career (2010-2015). After moving to Tennessee in 2015, she began coaching with Spike Volleyball Club and took over as Director in 2018. In addition to coaching indoor, Emily assisted in building and starting the Vollis Beach training facility in 2017. Emily’s coaching style is energetic, encouraging, and demanding with an emphasis on drilling fundamentals and teaching good technique at a young age.
Sarah found Vollis Beach on a whim when searching for a local beach league to join in 2019 and has been an active addition to the Vollis team since. Whether through coaching for Vollis Indoor, directing weekend and nightly tournaments, or tending to administerial needs, Sarah fills in the gaps for Vollis by wearing multiple hats. Sarah combines her experience as a NCAA athlete with her Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt to create an inclusive, personal, and engaging experience with Vollis.
